Riverside is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Jacksonville, and it looks it in the best way: brick streets, oak canopy, and houses built when plumbing was new. That same age is what we get called out for. We work on these homes every week and we tell you straight what we find.

Common Plumbing Challenges in Riverside
Most of Riverside was built between the 1900s and the 1920s, which means original cast iron drain lines and galvanized supply pipe are still in service under a lot of these houses. Cast iron scales and cracks from the inside out, and galvanized closes up until pressure drops off at the fixture. Both fail slowly enough that people live with them for years before calling.
The oak canopy that makes the neighborhood is also hard on sewer laterals. Roots find old clay and cast iron joints and grow into them, which is why so many Riverside drain calls turn out to be a line problem rather than a fixture problem. A camera inspection settles it quickly instead of guessing.
Renovation work is constant here. Opening a wall in a Riverside house usually turns up plumbing that has been added to three or four times over a century. We route new lines through old structure without tearing out more than we have to, and we work alongside contractors when that is how the job is set up.

Riverside Plumbing FAQs
Do you work on historic homes in Riverside?
Yes. Early 20th century plumbing is most of what we see in this neighborhood. We are used to working around original construction rather than through it.
My water pressure is low. Is that the city or my house?
In Riverside it is usually the house. Galvanized supply pipe narrows with age until pressure falls off, and it typically shows up at one or two fixtures first. We can test it and tell you which it is.
Do I need my sewer line replaced or just cleared?
That depends on what the camera shows. Root intrusion in an otherwise sound line can be cleared. A line that has collapsed or lost its bottom needs more than that. We show you the footage either way.
Can you help during a renovation?
Yes. We handle re-piping, moving fixtures, and bringing old lines up to current code as part of a renovation, and we coordinate with your contractor on timing.
